Hayley Williams<\/a> is practicing social-distancing at home like the rest of us, but she\u2019s still found a way to share a new song and visual for her Petals for Armor <\/em>project.<\/p>\n

The track, \u201cMy Friend,\u201d will be featured on her second Petals for Armor <\/em>EP, with the full 15-track album \u2014 the Paramore<\/a> singer\u2019s first solo LP \u2014 due to arrive on May 8th via Atlantic.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy Friend\u201d was released with a lyric video full of footage from when Williams was recording and promoting the album prior to the extended coronavirus quarantine. We see clips of her hanging in the studio with Paramore<\/a> bandmates and collaborators Joey Howard and Taylor York (who co-wrote and produced the song, respectively), as well as scenes with her hair and makeup artist Brian J. O\u2019Connor, who she referred to as her \u201cride or dye\u201d<\/a> in a tweet.<\/p>\n

Williams released the first batch<\/a> of Petals for Armor<\/em> tracks in February, featuring five songs, including \u201cSimmer,\u201d<\/a> \u201cCinnamon\u201d and \u201cLeave It Alone.\u201d<\/a> More recently, she shared the single \u201cRoses\/Lotus\/Violet\/Iris,<\/a>\u201d featuring backing vocals from Phoebe Bridgers<\/a>, Julien Baker<\/a> and Lucy Dacus<\/a> of Boygenius<\/a>. (She also covered<\/a> Bridgers\u2019 song \u201cSmoke Signals\u201d this week.) While in quarantine, she filmed herself doing an aerobics workout<\/a> to another new song, \u201cOver Yet.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n
