Twenty-five years ago, Full House<\/em> actor\/Beach Boys fan\/sometimes-drummer John Stamos<\/a> had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to jam with Bruce Springsteen<\/a> and John Fogerty<\/a> at a private 50th birthday party for the Creedence Clearwater Revival frontman.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s been sitting on video from the event all these years and earlier this week he shared it with the world on his Facebook page.<\/p>\n

\u201cI promised super cool Julie Fogerty that I would never let this private homespun video out of my hands,\u201d Stamos wrote. \u201cBut sitting around during this time, scanning through old videos, I figured it would be extremely special for people to see these two supernovas, two of music\u2019s biggest and most legendary icons sing and play together. (In John\u2019s living room, no less) So I asked Julie if it was OK to post a bit\u2026 she said, \u2018Sure, and when this whole thing is over, let\u2019s have a barbecue.\u2019 I f\u2019n love John and Julie Fogerty so much!\u201d<\/p>\n

The 15-minute video features long snippets of CCR\u2019s \u201cBorn on the Bayou,\u201d \u201cProud Mary\u201d and \u201cGreen River\u201d along with covers of \u201cSuzie Q\u201d and \u201cCotton Fields.\u201d They also tackle Wilson\u2019s Pickett\u2019s \u201cIn the Midnight Hour\u201d and Jimmy Reed\u2019s \u201cBaby What You Want Me to Do.\u201d<\/p>\n

Most intriguing is a song apparently called \u201cI\u2019m Your Detail Man\u201d featuring Springsteen on lead vocals. Unless it\u2019s a very obscure cover, it seems to be a Springsteen original nobody has ever heard before.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s unclear when this party took place, but Fogerty turned 50 on May 28th, 1995. (This was just five days after the final Full House<\/em> episode aired.) Springsteen had just started recording The Ghost of Tom Joad<\/em> at the time and had recently finished work producing the Joe Grushecky record American Babylon.<\/em> Eight days before Fogerty\u2019s birthday, Springsteen and the CCR singer attended Don Henley\u2019s wedding at the Saddlerock Ranch in Malibu, California, along with Billy Joel, Jackson Browne and Sting.<\/p>\n

Many of the guests at that wedding played with house band the Chieftains that evening. No video has ever surfaced, but maybe Stamos has it somewhere in his archive and he\u2019ll share it with us sometime soon. In the meantime, we\u2019re still puzzling over the mysterious \u201cI\u2019m Your Detail Man.\u201d We could use some more details about that.<\/p>\n
