The song marks the U.K. rap project\u2019s first new music in nine years, following 2011\u2019s<em> Computers and Blues.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The song\u2019s video features the Streets\u2019 Mike Skinner trying to call Tame Impala\u2019s Kevin Parker as a vintage Nokia phone displays \u201cSocial Distancing\u201d on its screen. \u201cCallin\u2019 call my phone thinking, I\u2019m doing nothing better,\u201d Skinner sings, sitting on a ski lift. Parker weaves his psychedelic vocals in and out: \u201cI\u2005was gonna call you back\/I swear\/Just\u2005as soon as I felt.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The song is the opening track on the Streets\u2019 upcoming mixtape&nbsp;<em>None of Us Are Getting Out of This Life Alive<\/em>, out October 7th via Island Records. The mixtape features contributions from Idles, Jesse James Solomon and more. It\u2019s currently available for <a href=\"https:\/\/shop.thestreetsmusic.co.uk\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">preorder.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Streets reunited for a tour in 2018. \u201cIf you bring the beer, we\u2019ll bring the party,\u201d Skinner <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/qa-mike-skinner-180237\/\">told <em>Rolling Stone<\/em> <\/a>of their live performances. \u201cIn America, we\u2019re like the pissed blokes paraded in front. But in England, we\u2019re not as pissed as the people in the audience. I throw cans into the audience when I\u2019m drunk, which is good \u2014 give some beer love \u2014 but every now and then someone gets <em>twazipped<\/em> on the head. Likewise, I\u2019ve been smacked in the head by full cans, so I\u2019ve paid my dues.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tame Impala began 2020 by releasing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-album-reviews\/tame-impala-the-slow-rush-review-938181\/\"><em>The Slow Rush,<\/em><\/a> following 2015\u2019s <em>Currents<\/em>. Parker recently dropped a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/tame-impala-imaginary-place-remix-the-slow-rush-975616\/\">remixed version of the record<\/a> \u2014 titled <em>The Slow Rush in an Imaginary Place \u2014&nbsp;<\/em>for the quarantine era. \u201cI made something for all you isolators out there,\u201d he <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/tameimpala\/status\/1244834775807881216?s=20\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">tweeted<\/a>. \u201cHeadphones required for full immersive effect.
