Kehlani<\/a> takes to her backyard and walks her neighborhood to film the self-directed video for hew new single, \u201cEverybody Business.\u201d The song follows the March release of \u201cToxic<\/a>,\u201d which also featured a video she self-shot at home while in quarantine during the COVID-19 crisis.<\/p>\n

Billed as directed under her play-on-words pseudonym, Hyphy Williams, Kehlani emotively sings about the rumors that follow her every move. It opens with people talking smack while a Google search screen flashes searches about her love life and rumors.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hear every word they talk\/Try not to care at all,\u201d she croons on the hook. \u201cI know it\u2019s frontin\u2019, don\u2019t know me from nothin\u2019\/Still learning to shake it off\/I know I can take it all\/I know they frontin\u2019\/You know they frontin\u2019, babe.\u201d<\/p>\n

In addition to self-directing the video, she also orchestrated the beat for \u201cEverybody Business\u201d along with producers Go Grizzly and Loshendrix. The smoldering guitar ballad interpolates Pharrell Williams\u2019 \u201cFrontin’\u201d featuring Jay-Z. \u201cI remember saying the first line and all of us knowing it was going to be one of the ones,\u201d she said in an Instagram post<\/a> about the song. \u201cThe way we all laughed, got silent, nodded our heads, walked around in circles. When I was nervous to sing the hook out loud because I didn\u2019t know if they would think I was hilarious for flipping Pharrell\u2019s \u2018Frontin\u201d in a guitar ballad.\u201d<\/p>\n

Beyond \u201cEverybody Business\u201d and \u201cToxic,\u201d Kehlani also released 2020\u2019s double music video<\/a> for \u201cAll Me\u201d and \u201cChange Your Life,\u201d and the single, \u201cValentine\u2019s Day (Shameful).\u201d<\/a> Kehlani also appears on Megan Thee Stallion\u2019s recent track, \u201cHit My Phone,\u201d<\/a> from Suga<\/em>, and on Justin Bieber\u2019s \u201cGet Me\u201d<\/a> from Changes<\/em>.<\/p>\n
