{"id":806479,"date":"2020-04-17T06:03:51","date_gmt":"2020-04-17T12:03:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/?p=985440"},"modified":"2020-04-17T06:03:51","modified_gmt":"2020-04-17T12:03:51","slug":"bon-iver-craft-a-covid-19-mantra-with-new-song-pdlif","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alwaysmountaintime.com\/ksmt\/music-news\/bon-iver-craft-a-covid-19-mantra-with-new-song-pdlif\/","title":{"rendered":"Bon Iver Craft a COVID-19 Mantra With New Song \u2018PDLIF\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/bon-iver\/\" id=\"auto-tag_bon-iver\" data-tag=\"bon-iver\">Bon Iver<\/a> unveiled a serene new song, \u201cPDLIF,\u201d and will donate all proceeds from the track to Direct Relief, a non-profit organization aiding the delivery of personal protective equipment to healthcare workers and others on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The song\u2019s title is an acronym for \u201cPlease Don\u2019t Live in Fear,\u201d which Bon Iver mastermind Justin Vernon uses as a simple, but compelling refrain throughout the track. \u201cPDLIF\u201d is based around a sample of Alabaster dePlume\u2019s \u201cVisit Croatia,\u201d which fellow Wisconsin musician Drew Christopherson (of Polica and Marijuana Deathsquads) introduced to Vernon.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Vernon produced \u201cPDLIF\u201d with Jim-E Stack and BJ Burton; it also features contributions from Kacy Hill, Joseph K. Rainey, Eli Teplin, Devin Hoffman and Rob Moose.
