Taylor Swift<\/a> delivered a stripped-down at-home rendition of her Lover<\/em> song \u201cSoon You\u2019ll Get Better\u201d \u2013 a fitting choice given the global pandemic \u2013 as part of Global Citizen\u2019s One World: Together at Home special<\/a>, which raised funds for COVID-19 relief.<\/span><\/p>\n

The performance came a day after Swift announced that she was forced to cancel her entire slate of 2020 concerts<\/a> \u2014 as well as postpone her planned Lover Fests until 2021 \u2014 due to the coronavirus pandemic.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m so sad I won\u2019t be able to see you guys in concert this year, but I know this is the right decision,\u201d Swift tweeted<\/a> Friday. \u201cPlease, please stay healthy and safe. I\u2019ll see you on stage as soon as I can but right now what\u2019s important is committing to this quarantine, for the sake of all of us.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Earlier this month, after the COVID-19 pandemic forced the closure of independent record stores, it was revealed<\/a> that Swift secretly supplied the employees of Nashville shop Grimey\u2019s New & Preloved Music with money for each employee and three months\u2019 worth of health care. The singer has also quietly contributed money to fans<\/a> impacted by the coronavirus outbreak.<\/span><\/p>\n

The special \u2014 hosted by late-night TV\u2019s Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon \u2014 also featured Paul McCartney (who performed the Beatles\u2019 \u201cLady Madonna\u201d<\/a>) the Rolling Stones, Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga, Alicia Keys, Stevie Wonder, Kacey Musgraves (performing \u201cButterfly\u201d<\/a>), Celine Dion, Usher, Eddie Vedder, Chris Martin, J Balvin, John Legend, Camila Cabello, Shawn Mendes, Pharrell Williams, Sam Smith, Billie Joe Armstrong, LL Cool J and many more.<\/span><\/p>\n
