John Legend<\/a> and Sam Smith<\/a> remotely duetted on Ben E. King<\/a>\u2019s classic \u201cStand By Me\u201d for Global Citizen<\/a>\u2019s One World: Together at Home special<\/a> to raise money for COVID-19 relief. The eight-hour concert helped raise $127 million to help the World Health Organization\u2019s efforts to fight the pandemic around the globe.<\/p>\n

Legend sat at his piano in front of his wall of trophies, providing piano accompaniment for the song along with a striking vocal performance. Both Legend and Smith traded off joyful deliveries of the classic from their home, joining each other for the chorus. <\/p>\n

The special \u2014 hosted by late-night TV\u2019s Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon \u2014 also featured Paul McCartney (who performed the Beatles\u2019 \u201cLady Madonna\u201d<\/a>), Kacey Musgraves<\/a>, the Rolling Stones (\u201cYou Can\u2019t Always Get You Want<\/a>\u201c), Taylor Swift (\u201cSoon You\u2019ll Get Better<\/a>\u201c), Kacey Musgraves (\u201cRainbow<\/a>\u201c), Eddie Vedder (\u201cRiver Cross<\/a>\u201c), Lizzo (\u201cA Change Is Gonna Come<\/a>\u201c) Billie Eilish (\u201cSunny<\/a>\u201c), Lady Gaga (\u201cSmile<\/a>\u201c), Alicia Keys, Stevie Wonder, Celine Dion, Usher, Chris Martin, J Balvin, Camila Cabello, Shawn Mendes, Pharrell Williams, Billie Joe Armstrong, LL Cool J and many more. <\/p>\n
