Angelo De Augustine and Sufjan Stevens<\/a> have teamed up for the first time on De Augustine\u2019s new single, \u201cSanta Barbara,\u201d released Tuesday on Stevens\u2019 Asthmatic Kitty label.<\/p>\n

The contemplative track, guided by a Guilele arpeggio, sees De Augustine assessing his loneliness and seeking out love as solace: \u201cAll this life has been a disguise\/Except for the hand in mine.\u201d Stevens contributes his trademark wistful vocals and guitar-playing to the song. The music video, filmed last month, sees him wandering an empty, washed-out beach.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2018Santa Barbara\u2019 touches on the uncertainties and realities of being mortal in the landscape that we view through our experience; displaying ghostly apparitions, love, death and a famous British novelist,\u201d De Augustine elaborated on the track. \u201cIt was a good experience to record this song with my friend Sufjan. I look forward to sharing more soon.\u201d<\/p>\n

De Augustine released his studio album Tomb<\/em>, produced by Thomas Bartlett, last year, and earned praise from artists like Taylor Swift and the 1975\u2019s Matt Healy.<\/p>\n

Stevens\u2019 last release was Aporia<\/em>, an instrumental album composed and recorded with his stepfather Lowell Brams that was unveiled in March. The pair released the singles \u201cThe Unlimited,\u201d<\/a> \u201cThe Runaround\u201d<\/a> and \u201cClimb That Mountain.\u201d <\/a><\/p>\n
