The Summit School District recently announced that all schools would remain closed for the remainder of the 2019-20 school year due to the coronavirus pandemic.<\/strong><br \/><em>Jason Connolly \/ jconnolly@summitdaily.com<\/em><\/figcaption><\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>The governing body for Colorado high school athletics has officially canceled the remainder of the 2020 spring season.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/chsaanow.com\/2020-04-21\/spring-2020-season-cancelled-due-to-on-going-covid-19-pandemic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">In a letter Tuesday,<\/a><i class=\"fas fa-external-link-alt\"><\/i> Rhonda Blanford-Green, the commissioner of the Colorado High School Athletic and Activities Association, announced all CHSAA-sanctioned spring activities and athletics are canceled for the remainder of the spring season, which ends June 1.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?sa=t&amp;rct=j&amp;q=&amp;esrc=s&amp;source=web&amp;cd=4&amp;cad=rja&amp;uact=8&amp;ved=2ahUKEwjJqZ6UvfroAhU4JDQIHa9yAtMQFjADegQIBBAB&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.summitdaily.com%2Fnews%2Fsenior-student-athletes-painfully-absorb-losing-their-final-days-as-summit-tigers%2F&amp;usg=AOvVaw0X5vGzLxui4O3JzSVmENb3\">With the exception of one track and field event<\/a>, the totality of the 2020 spring high school season has been canceled since mid-March due to health concerns stemming from the novel coronavirus pandemic and resulting school closures.
