Sammy Hagar<\/a> and the Circle have recorded a cover of Bob Marley<\/a>\u2019s \u201cThree Little Birds\u201d as part of their ongoing Lockdown Sessions series. \u201cI love this band more every day,\u201d Hagar wrote on Instragram.<\/a> \u201cThese guys are sooooo much fun and this song makes me happy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Their previous digital collaborations include their original song \u201cFunky Feng Shui,\u201d<\/a> the Who\u2019s \u201cWon\u2019t Get Fooled Again\u201d<\/a> and the 1986 Van Halen classic \u201cGood Enough.\u201d<\/a> This \u201cThree Birds\u201d cover is the most uplifting one so far and it shows the musicians lounging around their houses, sipping coffee, petting their dogs and reminding the world that \u201cevery little thing gonna be alright\u201d during this difficult time.<\/p>\n

The Circle features former Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony, drummer Jason Bonham and guitarist Vic Johnson. They\u2019ve spent the past few years playing shows packed with Van Halen, Led Zeppelin, Montrose and Hagar solo classics. They released their debut album, Space Between<\/em>, in May 2019.<\/p>\n

Their last gig took place on February 7th at the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo. They have a summer tour booked with special guests Whitesnake and Night Ranger, but the global shutdown of the concert industry due to the coronavirus makes it very likely they\u2019ll have to postpone or cancel the dates.<\/p>\n

Hagar hasn\u2019t played with Van Halen since the group\u2019s 2004 reunion tour. He told Rolling Stone<\/em> in 2017<\/a> that he\u2019d be down for a mega-tour alongside David Lee Roth if the group was willing to bring Michael Anthony back into the fold. \u201cI would give my money to food banks if they would do the same,\u201d he said. \u201cI would love to give the fans the greatest Van Halen show they could possibly have today. And then say, \u2018OK, I still don\u2019t like you guys.’\u201d<\/p>\n
