The Offspring<\/a> delivered a sprightly rendition of Tiger King<\/a><\/em> star Joe Exotic\u2019s \u201cHere Kitty Kitty<\/a>,\u201d performing in face masks in a nod to the COVID-19<\/a> era.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe was a rich woman, she had rich tastes\/She felt the blood runnin\u2019 through her veins,\u201d frontman Dexter Holland sings, accompanied by guitarist Noodles and a drummer in a tiger suit. \u201cShe liked the life she had\/She loved her big cats and the beauty of bein\u2019 untamed.\u201d<\/p>\n

As everyone who has binged Tiger King<\/em> knows, the track alludes to Exotic\u2019s insistent accusal that his nemesis, Carole Baskin, murdered her husband in the Nineties: \u201cEverything was fine, just as sweet as wine\/But her husband went and disappeared.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cLike many of you, we are going a little stir crazy these days and we wanted to do something fun to put a smile on our faces, and hopefully on some of yours too,\u201d they said in a statement.<\/p>\n

The band also acknowledged that Exotic didn\u2019t write \u201cHere Kitty Kitty,\u201d which Exotic\u2019s former video producer Rich Kirkham recently confirmed<\/a> in a Vanity Fair<\/em> interview: \u201cThis song, \u2018Here Kitty Kitty,\u2019 was originally by the Clinton Johnson Band, and not by anyone in that recent documentary we all got caught up in,\u201d they said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Offspring wives were group texting recently, and while they all agreed that they truly love their husbands, there are times when they\u2019ve absolutely felt like feeding us to the tigers,\u201d they added. \u201cIn that spirit, we hope you enjoy this random song and video.\u201d<\/p>\n

Last year, the Offspring joined Blink-182, All-American Rejects and others at the 25th anniversary Warped Tour shows. They were working on a new album prior to the pandemic, a follow-up to 2012\u2019s Days Go By<\/em>, produced by Bob Rock.<\/p>\n
