According to a statement his family shared via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/B_Vam4qDm5X\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">his Instagram<\/a>, \u201cRighteous\u201d was recorded in Juice WRLD\u2019s home studio in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n<p>The pensive song addresses anxiety and trying to quell it by self-medicating while also acknowledging the cyclical addiction that ensues. \u201cAll white Gucci suit, I\u2019m feeling righteous, yeah\/I know that the truth is hard to digest, yeah,\u201d he raps on the hook. \u201cFive or six pills in my right hand, yeah\/Codeine runneth over on my nightstand\/Takin\u2019 medicine to fix all of the damage\/My anxiety the size of a planet\/Holes in my skull over time\/My heart\u2019s over ice.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJuice was a prolific artist who dedicated his life to making music. Choosing how to share his upcoming music with the world was no easy feat. Honoring the love Juice felt for his fans while shining a light on his talents and his spirit are the most important parts of this process for us,\u201d the family said in a statement announcing the release of the single.<\/p>\n<p>It also referenced the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eifoundation.org\/partners\/live-free-999\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Live Free 999 Fund<\/a>, which Juice WRLD\u2019s mother, Carmela Wallace, established in honor of her son.
