{"id":806813,"date":"2020-04-27T07:48:45","date_gmt":"2020-04-27T13:48:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/?p=990242"},"modified":"2020-04-27T07:48:45","modified_gmt":"2020-04-27T13:48:45","slug":"justin-bieber-geddy-lee-and-more-sing-lean-on-me-in-bill-withers-tribute","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alwaysmountaintime.com\/ksmt\/music-news\/justin-bieber-geddy-lee-and-more-sing-lean-on-me-in-bill-withers-tribute\/","title":{"rendered":"Justin Bieber, Geddy Lee and More Sing \u2018Lean on Me\u2019 in Bill Withers Tribute"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/canada-bill-withers.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\"><\/div>\n<p>On Sunday night, a whole host of Canadian artists performed in&nbsp;<em>Stronger Together, Tous Ensemble<\/em>, a television special and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/livestream\/\" id=\"auto-tag_livestream\" data-tag=\"livestream\">livestream<\/a> dedicated to raising money for Food Banks Canada as they help fight the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/coronavirus\/\" id=\"auto-tag_coronavirus\" data-tag=\"coronavirus\">coronavirus<\/a> pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>The broadcast culminated in a remote \u2014 yet, very obviously, studio-produced \u2014 sing-along of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/bill-withers\/\">Bill Withers\u2019<\/a> \u201cLean on Me,\u201d performed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/justin-bieber\/\">Justin Bieber<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/avril-lavigne\/\">Avril Lavigne<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/geddy-lee\/\">Geddy Lee<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/bryan-adams\/\">Bryan Adams<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/michael-buble\/\">Michael Bubl\u00e9<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/sarah-mclachlan\/\">Sarah McLachlan<\/a>, Buffy Saint-Marie and a bunch of other Canadian celebrities you may or may not recognize.<\/p>\n<p>It was nice for the artists to pay their respects to Withers, who died earlier this month, although it\u2019s hard not to get distracted by Bieber\u2019s choice to clutch a pillow to his chest for the entirety of the performance.<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere on the broadcast, stars like Drake, C\u00e9line Dion, Shania Twain, Ryan Reynolds, Amy Poehler and Will Arnett offered messages of support to healthcare workers and other first responders and essential workers on the frontlines of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/covid-19\/\" id=\"auto-tag_covid-19\" data-tag=\"covid-19\">COVID-19<\/a> outbreak.
