Big Thief<\/a> dropped a lullaby of a standalone track Wednesday, \u201cLove in Mine,\u201d an outtake from 2019\u2019s Two Hands.<\/em><\/p>\n

Adrianne Lenker\u2019s dynamic voice is hush on the track \u2014 replete with soft guitar and shuffling drums \u2014 as she sings about \u201cwhat we leave behind\/Like cicada shells\/Will be hollowed\/And eaten by the hills.\u201d The thrumming emotional intensity of previous songs like 2019\u2019s \u201cNot\u201d is transformed here into a murmur: \u201cPut your love in mine\/Let your body sing when your words won\u2019t\/Tell me everything.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lenker and Co. were busy in 2019, releasing two acclaimed albums: U.F.O.F<\/em> and Two Hands<\/em>; Lenker also dropped a gorgeous solo album in 2018 titled Abysskiss<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe really pay attention to that kind of magic: what we\u2019re made of, where we come from and what\u2019s beyond,\u201d Lenker told Rolling Stone<\/em> in 2019 of U.F.O.F<\/em><\/a>. \u201cAs we\u2019ve deepened our relationships as friends and bandmates, there\u2019s been more room to explore. So it felt important in this record to have a bridge between the earthly, raw, physical forms \u2014 the sounds of us playing in a room \u2014 with this whole other celestial realm.\u201d<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, the band released a collection of demos<\/a> Demos Vol. 1 \u2013 Topanga Canyon, CA \u2013 Feb 2018 <\/em>with all proceeds going to support their touring crew in the wake of COVID-19 effectively shutting down the live music industry. \u201cThey are the lifeblood of the Big Thief shows and we care so deeply for each and every one of them,\u201d the band wrote.<\/p>\n
