Post Malone<\/a> is asking fans to help him decide where to donate $1 million.<\/p>\n

The musician is encouraging fans to text him organizations they support via the phone number 817-270-6440. Per a statement, the goal is to make sure the donations go to a variety of \u201ccause areas\u201d such as COVID-19 frontline responders, disaster relief, education, homelessness, hunger, mental health, veterans issues and more.<\/p>\n

\u201cNot everyone has the ability to financially support causes that may be close to them or that have helped them in the past,\u201d Post Malone said in a statement. \u201cThe fans are the absolute best and I want to give them the chance to give to charities that mean something to them.\u201d<\/p>\n

Last Friday, Post Malone hosted a livestream concert tribute<\/a> to Nirvana that raised over $500,000<\/a> for the United Nations Foundation\u2019s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund. That tally was added to a larger YouTube donation pool that\u2019s now nearing $4.5 million.<\/p>\n

The performance itself found Post Malone backed by a socially distanced band that included drummer Travis Barker, and the 80-minute set comprised a nearly full album cover of Nevermind <\/i>(sans \u201cPolly\u201d and \u201cSmells Like Teen Spirit\u201d), plus favorites like \u201cHeart-Shaped Box\u201d and \u201cAbout a Girl.\u201d The performance even earned accolades from Kurt Cobain\u2019s widow, Courtney Love, and Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic.<\/p>\n
