Earlier this week, Sting<\/a> appeared with Shaggy<\/a> on an installment of Rolling Stone\u2019s<\/em> In My Room IGTV series<\/a>, and now, the artist and former Police frontman is back with his own video, where he called in from his home in Wiltshire, England.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m lucky enough to have a recording studio here, where I can work everyday,\u201d he says. \u201cI\u2019m very fortunate; I\u2019m very grateful. I\u2019m also grateful for our healthcare workers, who are doing an extraordinary job, risking their lives everyday on the front line. The best thing that we can do is to help them, and not to get sick, and not to add to their workload, because we are all in this together.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sting then dove into a rendition of the Police\u2019s signature song, \u201cMessage in a Bottle,\u201d playing guitar and singing live alongside a percussive and backing vocal track. He followed it up with \u201cFragile,\u201d from his 1988 sophomore solo album \u2026Nothing Like the Sun<\/em>. The song pays tribute to the American civil engineer Ben Linder, who was killed by Contra operatives in Nicaragua in 1987, but the tune\u2019s refrain \u2014 \u201cFor all those born beneath an angry star\/Lest we forget how fragile we are\u201d \u2014 takes on a new meaning in this uncertain time.<\/p>\n

\u201cSome of my favorite cities in the world have been hit by this virus,\u201d Sting said afterwards, introducing the next song, \u201cnot least New York City, my adopted home. So this is a song about New York in better times that will return.\u201d That song, of course, is \u201cEnglishman in New York.\u201d<\/p>\n
