{"id":807026,"date":"2020-05-01T14:20:00","date_gmt":"2020-05-01T20:20:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.summitdaily.com\/?p=382590"},"modified":"2020-05-01T14:20:00","modified_gmt":"2020-05-01T20:20:00","slug":"summit-fire-launches-community-connect-platform-asks-community-to-create-profiles","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alwaysmountaintime.com\/ksmt\/local-news\/summit-fire-launches-community-connect-platform-asks-community-to-create-profiles\/","title":{"rendered":"Summit Fire launches Community Connect platform, asks community to create profiles"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Summit Fire &amp; EMS is encouraging residents to sign up<br \/>\nfor Community Connect, a software that gives the area\u2019s first responders vital<br \/>\ninformation about your household in the event of an emergency. <\/p>\n<p>All residents and property owners are encouraged to create a household account, allowing them to upload important information for first responders, including if anyone in the house has special physical or medical needs, preestablished meeting sites, access codes, the location of utility shutoffs, pets that might need rescue and more. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a safe and secure way for residents to provide us with important information that we otherwise wouldn\u2019t know when we\u2019re responding to a 911 call at their homes,\u201d Chief Jeff Berino said in a news release about the new system. \u201cOur firefighters and medics can pull up the information en route and provide a faster, more efficient response, looking out for any special needs or particular concerns.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The system also has an optional section for listing any COVID-19 symptoms or positive tests. <\/p>\n<p>Additionally, residents will be able to use the system to<br \/>\napply for backyard campfire permits, now required under Summit County\u2019s newly<br \/>\nadopted fire code. <\/p>\n<p>The Red, White and Blue Fire Protection District also <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"launched their own portal on Community Connect last month (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.summitdaily.com\/news\/red-white-blue-fire-announces-new-platform-to-provide-first-responders-with-critical-information\/\" target=\"_blank\">launched its own portal on Community Connect last month<\/a>.
