Grimes<\/a> gave birth to a healthy baby boy on Monday, May 4th, according to tweets from the father, Tesla founder Elon Musk<\/a>. \u201cMom & baby all good,\u201d he tweeted<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In interviews for her Rolling Stone<\/em> digital cover story<\/a>, conducted in February, Grimes explained that with her baby in breach position, she might have to schedule a cesarean delivery. \u201cThen we could make the Star Wars<\/em> joke and do it on May 4th,\u201d she said. \u201cYou know, you want an auspicious birthday.\u201d<\/p>\n

In his tweets, Musk claimed they named the baby X \u00c6 A-12 Musk; Grimes\u2019 representatives did not immediately respond to Rolling Stone<\/em>\u2018s request for comment.<\/p>\n

Grimes, who released her fifth album, Miss Anthropocene<\/em>, on February 21st, told Rolling Stone<\/em> just before its release that she was stunned by the extent to which her relationship with Musk has come to define her public image. \u201cNo one believes me about this,\u201d she said, \u201cbut I just did not understand what I was getting into at all. Not that I\u2019m mad about it. I just didn\u2019t think it would be a thing. The shit that\u2019s happened with my boyfriend this year has overwritten so much of my life\u2019s work.\u201d<\/p>\n

Musk has had a dramatic few weeks on Twitter and off, as he issued increasingly passionate calls to end COVID-19 lockdowns. \u201cFrankly, I would call it forcibly imprisoning people in their homes against all their constitutional rights\u2026that\u2019s my opinion,\u201d he said in a Tesla earnings call. He also tweeted that he was planning on selling all of his homes, and then wrote<\/a> \u201cmy gf @Grimezsz is mad at me.\u201d (He may have been joking: She tweeted<\/a> back, \u201cOmg.\u201d)<\/span><\/p>\n
