Jared Polis signed an executive order Tuesday, May 5 extending the deadline for filing and remitting <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1gwcd4tItze_qarV_Q4NRqHJeiRP0U4vt\/view?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">state and state-administered local sales tax to May 20<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The original sales tax deadline was April 20. Polis initially <a href=\"https:\/\/www.colorado.gov\/governor\/sites\/default\/files\/inline-files\/D%202020%20023%20Sales%20Tax_0.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">signed an executive order<\/a> extending the deadline on April 5. The order signed on Tuesday allows for the extension to continue.<\/p>\n<p>With the order, Polis aims to give businesses the ability to close and help prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus.
