The 2018 Queen<\/a> biopic Bohemian Rhapsody<\/a><\/em> may not seem like an obvious candidate for a sequel, especially since it ends in 1985 with frontman Freddie Mercury learning he\u2019s contracted HIV. But after the film grossed over $900 million worldwide and won four Academy Awards, including Best Actor for Rami Malek, rumors began to spread about a possible follow-up.<\/p>\n

In a new interview with Rolling Stone<\/em>, however, Queen guitarist Brian May<\/a> says it\u2019s unlikely to happen. \u201cDon\u2019t think we didn\u2019t think about it,\u201d he says. \u201cWe\u2019ve talked. Basically we think not, at the moment. Things could change, I suppose, but I think it would be difficult.\u201d<\/p>\n

Any sequel would likely focus on Mercury\u2019s final years where he left public life to battle the disease privately and record the Queen albums The Miracle<\/em> and Innuendo<\/em>. \u201cI don\u2019t think that would be an uplifting thing to do,\u201d says May. \u201cI\u2019m not saying it\u2019s impossible because there is a great story there, but we don\u2019t feel that\u2019s the story we want to tell at the moment.\u201d<\/p>\n
