Hop Along<\/a> singer-songwriter Frances Quinlan<\/a> performs three songs from her recent solo album, Likewise<\/em>, from her Philadelphia home for the latest episode of Rolling Stone<\/em>\u2018s \u201cIn My Room<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Playing simple acoustic renditions of \u201cNow That I\u2019m Back,\u201d \u201cWent to LA,\u201d and \u201cPiltdown Man,\u201d all drawn from the new album, Quinlan shows off the striking vocal turns and chord progressions that anchor each song, without the production choices heard on record.<\/p>\n

Likewise<\/em> is the first album Quinlan has released under her own name. She recorded it after making several acclaimed albums with her band, most recently 2018\u2019s Bark Your Head Off, Dog<\/em>. \u201cIt\u2019s crazy to think that in a couple years I\u2019ll have been in Hop Along for half of my life,\u201d  Quinlan recently told RS<\/em><\/a>. \u201cI just wanted to see where else I could go.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added that she hopes to get back together with Hop Along when conditions allow: \u201cI don\u2019t want to take Hop Along for granted. I miss them, honestly \u2026 I\u2019m hoping, knock on wood, to get into the studio as soon as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n

Quinlan\u2019s \u201cIn My Room\u201d session follows performances by Sting<\/a>, Joan Jett<\/a>, Fuerza Regida<\/a>, Lauv<\/a>, Waxahatchee<\/a>, Lucinda Williams,<\/a> James Bay<\/a>, Lukas Nelson<\/a>, Nathaniel Rateliff<\/a>, Steve Earle<\/a>, Graham Nash<\/a>, Yola<\/a>, John Fogerty<\/a>, Grace Potter,<\/a> and many more.<\/p>\n
