On the men\u2019s side, Breckenridge native Jaxin Hoerter, 19, was promoted to the men\u2019s halfpipe pro team after a strong 2019-20 winter season that included <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?sa=t&amp;rct=j&amp;q=&amp;esrc=s&amp;source=web&amp;cd=1&amp;cad=rja&amp;uact=8&amp;ved=2ahUKEwj9keaR6qLpAhWNuJ4KHY4iAo4QFjAAegQIAhAB&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.summitdaily.com%2Fnews%2Fwatch-breckenridges-jaxin-hoerter-realizes-x-games-aspen-dream%2F&amp;usg=AOvVaw1u84bS3Q6pthvDQvhW6mgb\">a debut at X Games in Aspen in January<\/a>. And <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?sa=t&amp;rct=j&amp;q=&amp;esrc=s&amp;source=web&amp;cd=1&amp;cad=rja&amp;uact=8&amp;ved=2ahUKEwj0hO6c6qLpAhUMgp4KHX2KAAkQFjAAegQIBhAB&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.summitdaily.com%2Fnews%2Fa-brotherly-love-friscos-fagan-freeski-twins-reach-world-cup-youth-olympics%2F&amp;usg=AOvVaw2z7XjZ9AEHD98Xc3Q30nzK\">Deven Fagan, 18, joined his twin brother, Kiernan Fagan<\/a>, on the slopestyle and big air pro team.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking from her family\u2019s home in State College, Pennsylvania, Riccomini said the nomination to the U.S. Ski Team on the heels of her stellar season on the Rev Tour and Futures circuit was a dream come true.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a new chapter,\u201d Riccomini said. \u201cI\u2019m moving on, moving to the next level. It\u2019s kind of been this whole thing that I\u2019ve wanted this for the past year, and it finally happened.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col\" readability=\"6\">\n<div class=\"row sd-donation sd-donation-mobile p-0\" readability=\"7\">\n<div class=\"col-xl-4 p-2\">\n<div data-bg=\"url(https:\/\/cdn.summitdaily.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/03\/SDN-logo-white-1.png)\" class=\"p-0 mt-2 mb-2 h-75 text-center rocket-lazyload\">\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.summitdaily.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/03\/SDN-logo-white-1.png\" class=\"logo m-0 p-0 invisible\"><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><h3 class=\"d-inline mr-3\">Support Local Journalism<\/h3>\n<p><button class=\"btn d-inline\" type=\"button\" onclick=\"handleDonationButtonClickMidArticle()\">Donate<\/button><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Dean Spirito, Riccomini\u2019s coach and the head International Ski Federation Academy coach for park and pipe athletes at Team Summit, said the U.S. Ski Team is getting a youthful perspective and ambition from a slopestyle and big air skier who has always been a strong rail skier and blossomed her big-jump skills this past year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m most excited to see how her jumping progresses, especially with access to training facilities the team uses,\u201d said Spirito, who will continue to coach Riccomini next season. \u201cThe landing bag out in Utah, with consistent access to that, it\u2019ll be exciting to see the new technical jump tricks she can add to her arsenal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Until then, Riccomini is executing unnatural slides and swaps on the backyard PVC-pipe rails she\u2019s built during quarantine to hit off her new artificial ski surface and wooden ramps.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a young female athlete, she is excited to push the boundaries of what female skiing has been to this point,\u201d Spirito said. \u201cShe wants to change the standard.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After taking her jumps to the next level this season, Riccomini said she has a dream of skiing with the country\u2019s best, like Maggie Voisin, and the world\u2019s best, like Estonian star Kelly Sildaru and Swiss star Mathilde Gremaud, to be a part of the women\u2019s freeski generation that brings multiple double corks \u2014 and even a triple \u2014 to competition.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHopefully, I can get a double-cork 10(80) and double-cork 12(60) soon, so I can get those in competitions,\u201d Riccomini said. \u201cA select few women are doing them, and I really look up to them. This year, I did my first double backflip. I stomped it my first try one day. I feel like I need to get these doubles down to push the sport as far as I can.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-instagram wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-instagram\"> <\/figure>\n<p>After working with Riccomini a couple of times prior at the U.S. team\u2019s Project Gold camp in the fall and at the Youth Winter Olympics in Switzerland in January, U.S. rookie coach Ryan Wyble said it\u2019s clear to him Riccomini has a positive outlook to constantly learn new tricks and spend as much time as she can training.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe goal the next couple of years for Jenna will be to continue to do really well at these Rev Tour and Nor Am events and to hopefully start earning herself some World Cup starts,\u201d Wyble said.<\/p>\n<p>As a Rookie Team coach, Wyble also worked with Deven Fagan, who Wyble said proved this season he\u2019s a force to be reckoned with on the World Cup circuit. Wyble also has been impressed how the Fagan brothers have gone \u201cabove and beyond\u201d the U.S. team\u2019s expectations for weight training in order to do big tricks as often as possible.<\/p>\n<p>The brothers have been adding atypical weights to barbells to consistently smash personal weight-lifting records in their Frisco basement over the past two months. They said that although they love lifting weights just for the fun of it, it will help them to get bigger tricks around on smaller jumps.<\/p>\n<p>For the twins, the past two months leading up to Deven\u2019s pro team nomination have been a highlight of their young careers. They took the freeski world by storm right before the COVID-19 shutdown with Kiernan\u2019s win at Slush Cup Utah.
