Despite social-distancing measures, Dion<\/a> recruited ZZ Top<\/a>\u2019s Billy Gibbons<\/a> for the video for \u201cBam Bang Boom,\u201d the latest song from \u201cThe Wanderer\u201d singer\u2019s upcoming all-star LP Blues With Friends<\/em><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The video (via Ultimate Classic Rock<\/a>) finds the two Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees performing the bluesy cut from their respect quarantines. The track is an ode to Dion\u2019s wife Susan, who the singer met in 1963.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThis is another song that started as phrases I wanted to sing. \u2018I stepped into love.\u2019 The lyric does a good job of describing what happened when I first met Susan,\u201d Dion said of the song in a statement. \u201cWe were both teenagers. She was new to my very Italian neighborhood in the Bronx and she was a redheaded transplant from Vermont. Bam bang boom!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Dion added of his collaborator: \u201cBilly Gibbons was a joy to work with on this. There\u2019s nobody like him.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Blues With Friends<\/em>\u2019 guest list also features Paul Simon, Jeff Beck, Van Morrison, Steven Van Zandt, Brian Setzer, Jimmy Vivino, and Bruce Springsteen and Patti Scialfa, with the latter two appearing on the previously released single \u201cHymn to Him<\/a>.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

In the liner notes for Blues With Friends<\/em>, due out June 5th, Bob Dylan wrote of Dion: \u201cDion knows how to sing and he knows just the right way to craft these songs, these blues songs. He\u2019s got some friends here to help him out, some true luminaries. But in the end, it\u2019s Dion by himself alone, and that masterful voice of his that will keep you returning to share these blues songs with him.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
