Nicole Atkins<\/a> slips into a hazy dream on \u201cMind Eraser,\u201d the latest single from her upcoming LP Italian Ice<\/em>, out May 29th.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf at first thought says my mind erased\/I never want, I never wanna leave again,\u201d Atkins sings over dizzy, whirring string instrumentation. \u201cWhen you spend time in a lion\u2019s cage\/You never go, you never go to sleep again.\u201d She readies herself for the chorus: \u201cThese dreams, I know too well\/Am I sleeping? It\u2019s hard to tell.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMind Eraser\u201d was co-written by My Morning Jacket\u2019s Cary Broemel and was influenced by Radiohead, Roy Orbison and Serge Gainsbourg. The song follows the disco stunner \u201cDomino<\/a>\u201d and the lead single \u201cCaptain,\u201d<\/a> two songs Atkins recently performed for Rolling Stone<\/em>\u2018s \u201cIn My Room<\/a>\u201d video series.<\/p>\n

While in quarantine during the COVID-19 pandemic, Atkins has been performing a weekly live series via Instagram, Alone We\u2019re All Alone Together<\/em>. The series has featured guests that include Lily Hiatt, Hamilton Leithauser and more.<\/p>\n

\u201cI gotta say, as much as I dreaded playing in my attic at first, Saturday night\u2019s show has become something I really look forward to now every week,\u201d Atkins recently wrote<\/a>. \u201cthink it\u2019s good to have some bit of a schedule to keep these days. I. Am. Pumped.\u201d<\/p>\n
