Jesse Colin Young<\/a>, founding member of the Sixties folk-rock group the Youngbloods<\/a>, performs three songs from his home<\/span> for the latest episode of Rolling Stone<\/em>\u2018s \u201cIn My Room<\/a>.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Surrounded by his guitars from over the years, the singer-songwriter starts off the segment by reminding everyone that \u201cit\u2019s a time where we need to pull together; we need each other.\u201d Then he jumps into an acoustic rendition of the 1974 track \u201cLight Shine.\u201d Young then performs \u201cWalk the Talk,\u201d the title track of a 2001 solo album where he collaborated with his son Cheyenne Young, godson Ethan Turner, and former Youngbloods member Lowell \u201cBanana\u201d Levinger.<\/p>\n

Young closes with a fan favorite, \u201cGet Together,\u201d sometimes known as the hippie national anthem. \u201cCome on, people now\/Smile on your brother\/Everybody get together\/And try to love one another right now,\u201d he sings. The song featured on the group\u2019s self-titled debut and was released as a single in 1967.<\/p>\n

\u201cJoin us in making a song quilt of the chorus of \u2018Get Together,’\u201d Young said. \u201cMake a video of you and your people singing the chorus of \u2018Get Together,\u2019 or two. In the key of G would be best, but any way is good,\u201d he added with a laugh.<\/p>\n

Young has been collecting videos of people all over the world singing the chorus to this track for the past few months. He tells his fans to use #GetTogetherAgain and tag Jesse Colin Young to embrace the message of the lyrics.<\/p>\n

Young\u2019s \u201cIn My Room\u201d session follows performances by Sting<\/a>, Joan Jett<\/a>, Fuerza Regida<\/a>, Lauv<\/a>, Waxahatchee<\/a>, Lucinda Williams,<\/a> James Bay<\/a>, Lukas Nelson<\/a>, Nathaniel Rateliff<\/a>, Steve Earle<\/a>, Graham Nash<\/a>, Yola<\/a>, John Fogerty<\/a>, Grace Potter,<\/a> and many more.<\/p>\n
