Ella O\u2019Connor Williams, who performs under the moniker Squirrel Flower<\/a>, breezed through a handful of songs for the latest installment of \u201cIn My Room<\/a>,\u201d a series in which artists perform from home while in quarantine.<\/p>\n

From her house in Arlington, Massachusetts \u2014 where Williams recently cooked risotto<\/a> for Rolling Stone \u2014<\/em> she kicked off with her new song \u201cTake It or Leave It,\u201d a track she dropped on Tuesday along with a cover of Caroline Polachek\u2019s \u201cSo Hot You\u2019re Hurting My Feelings<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Williams recorded \u201cTake It or Leave It\u201d as a 7-inch single to go along with her debut album I Was Born Swimming<\/em><\/a>, released in January. Following \u201cTake It or Leave It,\u201d she dove into the excellent \u201cHeadlights\u201d from the album. \u201cRealize I\u2019m not getting older but I\u2019m not getting younger\/But I\u2019m\u2005not getting younger,\u201d she sings, strumming her acoustic guitar. \u201cHeadlights look different\/When I\u2019m\u2005looking over my shoulder.\u201d<\/p>\n

For her final song, Williams unveiled \u201cI\u2019ll Never Bend,\u201d a song she wrote four years ago but never recorded. \u201cI\u2019ll never bend myself for another\/That\u2019s why I have to leave my dear,\u201d she announces. \u201cI realize now I have forgotten\/How it feels to hold myself so close\/And now I am free to discover\/What I really need the most.\u201d<\/p>\n

Williams\u2019 \u201cIn My Room\u201d segment follows performances by Hop Along\u2019s Frances Quinlan<\/a>, Sting<\/a>, Joan Jett<\/a>, Lucinda Williams<\/a>, Waxahatchee<\/a> and more.
