Rivers Cuomo continued the quarantine trend of covering Nirvana<\/a> Monday with a piano rendition of \u201cHeart-Shaped Box.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cuomo performed the In Utero<\/em> track next to a towering plant and a desk boasting a prominently-placed guitar and bottle of hand-sanitizer. Neither the angle nor the video quality is all that good \u2014 \u201cFilming this with a potato added to the vibe, it was the right choice,\u201d one commenter quipped \u2014 but the cover itself is appropriately fraught.<\/p>\n

The Weezer<\/a> frontman\u2019s cover follows Post Malone\u2019s Nirvana tribute livestream<\/a> for COVID-19 relief, Puddle of Mudd\u2019s \u201cAbout a Girl\u201d rendition<\/a> and Bully\u2019s take<\/a> on the same Bleach<\/em> cut.<\/p>\n

Cuomo has kept busy during quarantine, hosting Zoom sessions for fans \u2014 which is where this cover came from \u2014 and dropping \u201cHero\u201d with Weezer<\/a> in honor of frontline workers. The band also made a cameo on The Simpsons<\/em> last week<\/a> and covered the iconic theme. They released a new song, \u201cBlue Dream,\u201d on the episode as well. Both \u201cBlue Dream\u201d and \u201cHero\u201d will appear on the band\u2019s upcoming album, Van Weezer<\/em>, though its release has been delayed due to COVID-19.<\/p>\n
