{"id":807390,"date":"2020-05-13T07:44:48","date_gmt":"2020-05-13T13:44:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/?p=998665"},"modified":"2020-05-13T07:44:48","modified_gmt":"2020-05-13T13:44:48","slug":"ok-go-premiere-new-song-for-frontline-covid-19-workers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alwaysmountaintime.com\/ksmt\/music-news\/ok-go-premiere-new-song-for-frontline-covid-19-workers\/","title":{"rendered":"OK Go Premiere New Song for Frontline COVID-19 Workers"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/ok-go-all-together-now.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\"><\/div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/ok-go\/\">OK Go<\/a> released a new song on Wednesday in honor of frontline healthcare workers battling the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/covid-19\/\">COVID-19<\/a> pandemic, inspired by both the nightly cheer for essential workers at 7:00 p.m. and by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/2020\/apr\/07\/what-coronavirus-can-teach-us-about-hope-rebecca-solnit\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">a recent Rebecca Solnit essay in <em>The Guardian<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The track, \u201cAll Together Now,\u201d was written and recorded in the band\u2019s homes over the past two months, and it\u2019s accompanied by a video of the OK Go members performing the song in quarantine.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll those colors we painted yesterday\/They look so different now\/And all those harmonies we sang yesterday\/All sound so different somehow,\u201d lead vocalist Damian Kulash sings. \u201cThough they\u2019re all still the same\/Everything\u2019s untouched but forever changed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kulash also shared <a href=\"https:\/\/okgo.net\/alltogethernow\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">a letter<\/a> explaining that he and his family had contracted the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/coronavirus\/\" id=\"auto-tag_coronavirus\" data-tag=\"coronavirus\">coronavirus<\/a>, and how his wife\u2019s recovery process was especially harrowing. \u201cShe was only briefly at the hospital, but bedridden with breathing problems for a long stretch. As she convalesced, I struggled to keep up with our two-year-old twins, and there were times when her breathing was so labored I worried she just wouldn\u2019t wake up.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Luckily, Kulash goes on, his wife made a full recovery, and he later found a sense of hope through the pandemic while reading Solnit\u2019s essay: \u201cWhen the status quo evaporates, anything is possible, for better or for worse.
