Pearl Jam<\/a> enlist Greta Thunberg<\/a> to issue a dire climate change warning in the band\u2019s new animated video for \u201cRetrograde,\u201d a track off their recent LP Gigaton<\/em><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the video, a man visits a fortune teller\u2019s shop and, upon peering into a crystal ball, sees a series of climate change disasters unleashed on the planet, from rising seas engulfing New York City to the Australian outback ablaze from bushfires. It\u2019s later revealed that environmental activist Greta Thunberg is the fortune teller.<\/span><\/p>\n

Pearl Jam themselves appear in \u201cRetrograde\u201d as marching tarot cards leading an army against the impending calamities.<\/span> The band previously warned of environmental doom on their Gigaton<\/em> track \u201cQuick Escape<\/a>\u201d as well as their trio of \u201cDance of the Clairvoyants\u201d videos<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the aftermath of the coronavirus, Pearl Jam were forced to postpone<\/a> their 2020 U.S. tour. Vedder also performed a solo rendition of Gigaton<\/em>\u2019s \u201cRiver Cross<\/a>\u201d during Global Citizen\u2019s Together at Home special, and later offered<\/a> up a special \u201cbirthday package\u201d as part of the All-In challenge.<\/span><\/p>\n
