Fatalities connected to the virus now will be counted separately from fatalities caused by the virus, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/covid19.colorado.gov\/data\/case-data\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the state public health department\u2019s website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Since Summit County\u2019s first confirmed case of coronavirus March 5, public health officials have reported two deaths related to the virus. With the new classification change, the <a href=\"http:\/\/summitcountyco.gov\/1323\/Case-Data\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">county\u2019s coronavirus webpage<\/a> now is reporting only one death.<\/p>\n<p>The death that has been removed from the official count is a Silverthorne man in his 60s who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.summitdaily.com\/news\/summit-county-man-who-died-later-tests-positive-for-coronavirus\/\">tested positive for the virus after he died<\/a>, according to a April 11 new release from the county. On April 17, the county coroner\u2019s office confirmed the man\u2019s primary cause of death was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.summitdaily.com\/news\/covid-19-was-not-the-primary-cause-of-death-for-silverthorne-man\/\">a diabetic ketoacidosis event<\/a>.
