It\u2019s also exactly the kind of instrumental perfectly suited for Pharell, who drapes the song in his silky croon, singing, \u201cYou\u2019re making faces, probably so mad\/We\u2019re in the ocean waves are rolling in your eyes\/Pulses high, the heart beats\/We\u2019re being called to the other side.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Deadmau5 and the Neptunes recorded \u201cPomegranate\u201d back in December 2019 during a secret session at Criteria Recording Studios in Miami. The track marks Deadmau5\u2019s first new song of 2020, although it follows a collection of remixes he released in March for his three 2019 singles, \u201cSatrn,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/deadmau5-coasted-916112\/\">\u201cCoasted\u201d<\/a> and \u201cFall.\u201d Deadmau5 released his last proper studio album, <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-album-reviews\/review-deadmau5-bucks-edm-expectations-again-on-w-2016album-110413\/\">W:\/2016Album\/<\/a>,<\/em> in 2016, while in 2018 he shared <em>Where\u2019s the Drop?<\/em>, which featured new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-features\/why-deadmau5-went-orchestral-with-wheres-the-drop-629419\/\">orchestral arrangements<\/a> of his older songs.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The Neptunes, meanwhile, have been busy as always.
