Tests are available seven days a week to any community member experiencing COVID-19 symptoms.<\/strong><br \/><em>Jason Connolly \/ jconnolly@summitdaily.com<\/em><\/figcaption><\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>One more person tested positive for the novel coronavirus Wednesday, according to <a href=\"http:\/\/summitcountyco.gov\/1323\/Case-Data\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Summit County\u2019s coronavirus webpage<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 201 people have tested positive for the virus since the first confirmed case March 5. On Tuesday, the county reported eight new cases, a small jump from previous weeks.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview Tuesday, Summit County Nurse Manager Sara Lopez said the county can\u2019t pinpoint the reasoning for the jump in cases, but some could be connected to people spending time together on Mother\u2019s Day.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are conducting some investigations around people that were visiting and in close contact (on Mother\u2019s Day),\u201d she said. \u201cWe have identified some cases following within that exposure and time.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col\" readability=\"6\">\n<div class=\"row sd-donation sd-donation-mobile p-0\" readability=\"7\">\n<div class=\"col-xl-4 p-2\">\n<div data-bg=\"url(https:\/\/cdn.summitdaily.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/03\/SDN-logo-white-1.png)\" class=\"p-0 mt-2 mb-2 h-75 text-center rocket-lazyload\">\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.summitdaily.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/03\/SDN-logo-white-1.png\" class=\"logo m-0 p-0 invisible\"><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><h3 class=\"d-inline mr-3\">Support Local Journalism<\/h3>\n<p><button class=\"btn d-inline\" type=\"button\" onclick=\"handleDonationButtonClickMidArticle()\">Donate<\/button><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Lopez said everyone needs to continue social distancing, especially in anticipation of Memorial Day.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSocial distancing really is working,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Community testing continues to be provided throughout the county. A total of 1,203 people have been tested for the virus.<\/p>\n<p>People who are experiencing symptoms of the virus can be tested at either Centura Health\u2019s Centers for Occupational Medicine in Frisco or Vail Health\u2019s mobile testing clinic throughout the county.
