The singer, aka Abel Tesfaye, released the cut at midnight on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the song\u2019s buoyant, synth-tipped melodies, the lyrics hint at the doubts and fears that can transpire when expressing vulnerable feelings within a relationship. The remix includes a sort of call-and-response to Weeknd\u2019s lyrics. \u201cYou always try to hide the pain\/You always know just what to say\/I always look the other way,\u201d the Weeknd sings. \u201cI\u2019m blind, I\u2019m blind\/In your eyes, you lie, but I don\u2019t let it define you\/Oh, define you.\u201d Doja Cat continues the conversation with her sultry verse. \u201cI never lied when I cried for you,\u201d she croons. \u201cAnd I know you cried, too \u2026 always had to say bye to you.\u201d Later, she raps, \u201cOne day I\u2019m giving you space, and the next day you\u2019re giving me face\u201d about the song\u2019s push-and-pull emotions.<\/p>\n<p>His collaboration with Doja Cat follows several other <em>After Hours<\/em>&nbsp;remixes, including a Lil Uzi Vert remix of \u201cHeartless\u201d and a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/the-weeknd-major-lazer-blingiht-lights-remix-984120\/\">Major Lazer remix<\/a>&nbsp;of \u201cBlinding Lights.\u201d Released in March, <em>After Hours<\/em> spent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/rs-charts-top-200-the-weeknd-tory-lanez-986813\/\">four weeks at Number One<\/a> on the <em>Rolling Stone<\/em> Top 200 Albums chart.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in the day, the Weeknd announced the postponement of his 2020 tour in support of <em>After Hours<\/em> to next year along with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/the-weeknd-after-hours-tour-rescheduled-2021-covid-19-1003275\/\">newly rescheduled dates<\/a>.
