Sharon Van Etten<\/a> will perform a livestream of her 2019 debut album, Because I Was in Love<\/em>, on May 29th. Tickets are currently available<\/a> and a portion of the event\u2019s ticket proceeds will benefit the National Independent Venue Association<\/a> (NIVA<\/a>) as well as her band and crew. Each ticket holder will also be entered in a raffle to win a signed copy of the original vinyl pressing of the LP. The singer will perform the record solo in its entirety and the stream will be available to ticket holders for 24 hours.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wrote my debut album, \u2018because i was in love\u2019, in a sort of self-imposed quarantine \u2014 alone with a guitar in my parents\u2019 basement,\u201d she wrote on Twitter announcing the event. \u201cWith the album\u2019s anniversary approaching, I thought it\u2019d be meaningful to play it live the way it was conceived.\u201d<\/p>\n

This week, Van Etten and Josh Homme teamed up to release a home-shot video<\/a> of their Nick Lowe cover, \u201c(What\u2019s So Funny \u2018Bout) Peace, Love and Understanding?\u201d Earlier this month she paid tribute to Adam Schlesinger when she teamed up with the surviving members of Fountains of Wayne to perform \u201cHackensack<\/a>.\u201d She\u2019s also recently pledged her support<\/a> for a new initiative from the Hi, How Are You Project, the mental-health nonprofit inspired by the life and legacy of Daniel Johnston.<\/p>\n
