“I don\u2019t just want to sit around for a year and a half and do nothing”<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Asking Alexandria<\/strong> have just released their new album ‘Like A House On Fire’ via Sumerian.<\/p>\n

Though according to guitarist Ben Bruce because of them not being able to tour it, there could be another one in the works very soon. <\/p>\n

The first hints of that were when he tweeted this…

A few thoughts from today….<\/p>\n

If we can\u2019t tour…..maybe we should hit the studio again \ufffd\ufffd\ufffd\ufffd\u200d\u2642\ufe0f<\/p>\n

If we are all frustrated…..maybe we should write some angry music again \ufffd\ufffd\ufffd\ufffd\u200d\u2642\ufe0f<\/p>\n

If some fish can \u201cfly\u201d why can\u2019t a penguin? \ufffd\ufffd\ufffd\ufffd\u200d\u2642\ufe0f<\/p>\n

So in our recent Video Call, we asked him about it:<\/p>\n

“We went back in the studio the day after I tweeted that. Everybody was like \u2018Let\u2019s go\u2019 and I was just like \u2018Let\u2019s do it\u2019. Our management was like \u2018The new album\u2019s not out yet, what are you doing?\u2019 I\u2019m a musician, I\u2019m making music. I\u2019m not sure that touring is going to happen in 2020. That’s not my choice, and I\u2019m not even convinced it\u2019s going to happen until way later in 2021. No-one knows what\u2019s going to happen but I think touring is going to be the last thing to come back after restaurants and everything. I don\u2019t just want to sit around for a year and a half and do nothing. I kind of want to put another album out. It would be cool to come back to the touring world and have two brand new albums out for people. It\u2019s a little bit ambitious but at the end of the day we\u2019re musicians.<\/em><\/p>\n

I\u2019m not glad this is happening, but I\u2019m glad it\u2019s forced people to hit the reset button. The whole of the music industry has fallen into this weird schedule. You do an album then you tour for two years, then you do an album and then tour for two years. It\u2019s very regimented and boring and not very rock and roll at all. It\u2019s very predictable at this point. I think it\u2019s cool that we\u2019ve all had to take a step back and see what people decide to do.”<\/p>\n

We didn’t get chance to ask more details about the penguin thought though.<\/p>\n
