Muzz<\/a>, the new band fronted by Interpol\u2019s<\/a> Paul Banks<\/a>, perform underneath a museum in the video<\/a> for their new single \u201cKnuckleduster.\u201d<\/p>\n

The song is brighter and more reminiscent of Banks\u2019 alt-rock roots than Muzz\u2019s prior singles, and the visual, shot in the basement of the American Treasure Tour Museum near Philadelphia, is a masterclass in how to dynamically film a rock band performance.<\/p>\n

Starting off with some solid drum work by Matt Barrick (of the Walkmen, Jonathan Fire*Eater and Fleet Foxes\u2019 touring band), the clip intercuts his performance with the band running down a long, industrial hallway toward the camera and their instruments. Barrick is then joined by guitarist Josh Kaufman (producer\/multi-instrumentalist of folk group Bonny Light Horseman), and then finally by Banks, who sports a freshly-dyed green head of hair.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile we were shooting the video for \u2018Red Western Sky,\u2019 we discovered this great space underneath the museum. Unplanned, we quickly set up and started filming again \u2014 capturing the video for \u2018Knuckleduster\u2019 on the same day,\u201d Banks says. \u201cHair was greener and times were simpler back then.\u201d<\/p>\n

Although the three bandmates are long-time friends, and have been recording together as Muzz since 2015, the band officially debuted this past March<\/a> with the singles \u201cBroken Tambourine\u201d and \u201cBad Feeling,\u201d and later shared \u201cRed Western Sky.\u201d<\/a> The band will release their self-titled debut on June 5th via Matador Records.<\/p>\n
