Danielle Haim<\/a> tears through three new songs in latest installment of Rolling Stone<\/em>\u2018s \u2018In My Room<\/a>,\u2019 a series in which artists perform from home while in quarantine.<\/p>\n

Surrounded by equipment, she kicked off with \u201cDon\u2019t Wanna,<\/a>\u201d the latest single from the band\u2019s upcoming LP Women in Music Pt. III.<\/em> \u201cWell, we both had nights waking up in strangers\u2019 beds,\u201d she sings, strumming an electric guitar. \u201cBut I don\u2019t wanna, don\u2019t wanna, I don\u2019t wanna give up yet.\u201d<\/p>\n

She then performed \u201cSummer Girl,\u201d a sunny track released last summer. Danielle wrote the song after finding out her partner had cancer. \u201cI was on tour and felt like I was trying to send positive energy his way almost telepathically,\u201d she said.<\/a> \u201cWhenever I would come home in between shows I wanted to be his sunshine \u2014 his summer when he was feeling dark. His hope when he was feeling hopeless.\u201d<\/p>\n

For the final song, she shifted to acoustic guitar for \u201cThe Steps.\u201d \u201cEvery time I think that I\u2019ve been taking the steps\/You end up mad at me for making a mess,\u201d she sings. \u201cI can\u2019t understand, why you don\u2019t understand me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Haim\u2019s In My Room<\/em> segment follows performances by Dawes\u2019 Taylor Goldsmith<\/a>, Phony Ppl<\/a>, Sting<\/a>, Joan Jett<\/a>, Lucinda Williams<\/a>, Waxahatchee,<\/a> and others.
