Ahead of the June 5th arrival of Run the Jewels<\/a> 4<\/em>, the duo\u2019s El-P said Saturday that their new album will be available for free upon release. El-P\u2019s announcement came hours after Run the Jewels\u2019 Killer Mike delivered an emotional speech<\/a> where he addressed Atlanta demonstrators protesting George Floyd\u2019s death.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cFor me this is the only way I really know how to contribute to the human struggle and experience beyond just trying to be kind and aware and grow,\u201d El-P said of releasing RTJ4<\/em> \u201cfor FREE for ANYONE who wants some music.\u201d \u201cIt\u2019s the only weapon i\u2019m truly trained in and i\u2019m grateful to have it.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

El-P added, \u201cI don\u2019t have shit left to say right now that me and my brother @killermike<\/span> don\u2019t express on this album so I\u2019m not saying shit anymore til then. on it is all our joy, humor, friendship and rage. We got bangers to help you lose yourself and smile and we got shit that comes from the deepest places in our hearts.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Run the Jewels 4<\/em>, the long-awaited follow-up to 2016\u2019s Run the Jewels 3<\/em>, will also be available for purchase. Killer Mike and El-P have so far released \u201cYankee and the Brave (Ep. 4)<\/a>\u201d and \u201cOoh LA LA<\/a>\u201d from their new album, which features<\/a> appearance by Zack de la Rocha, Mavis Staple, Josh Homme, Pharrell Williams, DJ Premier and more.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI love y\u2019all be safe don\u2019t fall for the fuck shit and protect each other and your spirits from those that would divide and hurt you,\u201d El-P said. \u201cThis ain\u2019t an advertisement this is just me saying i love you and i hope this music does something for you in these fucked up times.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
