The band didn\u2019t have a concrete intention for a follow-up to 2017\u2019s <em>World Be Gone\u2014 \u201c<\/em>[An album] is in the distance,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-features\/erasure-andy-bell-torsten-queereteria-tv-819950\/\">Bell said<\/a> at the time \u2014 but a year later they\u2019re teasing <em>Neon<\/em>, out August 21st via Mute.<\/p>\n<p>The 10-track album was written and produced by Erasure and recorded in Atlanta earlier this year. \u201cIt was about refreshing my love \u2014 hopefully our love \u2014 of great pop,\u201d Bell <a href=\"https:\/\/consequenceofsound.net\/2020\/06\/erasure-the-neon-new-album\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">explained in a statement.<\/a> \u201cI want kids now to hear these songs! I wanted to recharge that feeling that pop can come from anyone.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This will be the 18th full-length album from the duo, and the first song, \u201cHey Now (Think I Got a Feeling),\u201d&nbsp; certainly harks back to the type of upbeat dance tracks that shot them to pop stardom in the Eighties.
