{"id":808153,"date":"2020-06-07T09:03:18","date_gmt":"2020-06-07T15:03:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/?p=1011208"},"modified":"2020-06-07T09:03:18","modified_gmt":"2020-06-07T15:03:18","slug":"see-roger-daltrey-harry-hudson-talk-cancer-benefit-gigs-recovery-advice-in-interview-excerpt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alwaysmountaintime.com\/ksmt\/music-news\/see-roger-daltrey-harry-hudson-talk-cancer-benefit-gigs-recovery-advice-in-interview-excerpt\/","title":{"rendered":"See Roger Daltrey, Harry Hudson Talk Cancer Benefit Gigs, Recovery Advice in Interview Excerpt"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/who.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\"><\/div>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">To mark National <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/cancer\/\" id=\"auto-tag_cancer\" data-tag=\"cancer\">Cancer<\/a> Survivors Day today, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/the-who\/\" id=\"auto-tag_the-who\" data-tag=\"the-who\">the Who<\/a>\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/roger-daltrey\/\" id=\"auto-tag_roger-daltrey\" data-tag=\"roger-daltrey\">Roger Daltrey<\/a> \u2014 co-founder of <a href=\"https:\/\/teencanceramerica.org\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Teen Cancer America<\/a> \u2014 and singer Harry Hudson, who survived Hodgkin\u2019s lymphoma, have shared a preview of their upcoming conversation about the disease.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In this preview from the 15-minute chat, Daltrey talks about the importance of fundraising events; as Daltrey and Pete Townshend are the co-founders of Teen Cancer America, the Who frequently stage benefit concerts for their foundation, which helps young adults battle the disease.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cIf the American artists get behind doing this and putting on events, we can have America completely covered in probably 10 years, and that would be around 90 hospitals,\u201d Daltrey says.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Hudson also offered advice to those currently battling cancer. \u201cDon\u2019t push away the dissecting; embrace the pain or the joy or the sorrow you feel, or the hurt.
