Octavian alternates between a steady flow and a sing-song drawl as he waxes about endless nights in his raspy lilt.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cFriday 13th\u201d arrives with a video directed by Gorillaz\u2019s artistic mastermind Jamie Hewlett. Filmed with everyone in self-isolation because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the clip boasts a simple premise as footage of Octavian performing the song \u2014 as well as the heads of all the Gorillaz members \u2014 is superimposed over footage of speeding highways and tunnels drenched in psychedelic effects.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFriday 13th\u201d marks the fourth song in Gorillaz\u2019s Song Machine series, which was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/gorillaz-new-music-video-series-song-machine-details-944519\/\">launched earlier this year<\/a> with the aim of moving outside the constraints of a typical album cycle. Other installments include <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/gorillaz-peter-hook-new-song-aries-980372\/\">\u201cAries,\u201d<\/a> which features New Order\u2019s Peter Hook, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/gorillaz-slowthai-slaves-momentary-bliss-song-machine-945697\/\">\u201cMomentary Bliss\u201d<\/a> with Slowthai and Slaves and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/gorillaz-fatoumata-diawara-new-song-desole-song-machine-958067\/\">\u201cDesole,\u201d<\/a> with Malian singer Fatoumata Diawara.
