Mark Hoppus Has Shared The Story Of The First Ever Blink-182 Show

It wasn’t always arenas, and glitz and glamour.

We caught up with Blink-182 and Simple Creatures‘ Mark Hoppus recently, and he shared the story of the first ever Blink show – and let’s just say it didn’t exactly go to plan.

It was the summer of 1992, Blink were an unsigned band, and Travis Barker wasn’t even in the band yet. It was a wild time – a lawless time.

“The first Blink show, we played this Biker bar in south San Diego,” Mark shared. “It was the bartender, one patron, the three of us – we played one song, then the one guy said ‘can you please turn it down?’, so we turned it down. Then we played another song and he said ‘can you please turn it down more?’ – we turned it down. We got a third song in, and he said ‘you know what guys? Let’s just call it. Let’s call it. Have some Snapple, you guys earned it.'”
