{"id":2409419,"date":"2018-12-16T09:48:36","date_gmt":"2018-12-16T16:48:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.aspentimes.com\/?p=289756"},"modified":"2018-12-16T09:48:36","modified_gmt":"2018-12-16T16:48:36","slug":"colorado-wildlife-officials-restock-animas-river-with-trout-after-die-off-caused-by-wildfire","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alwaysmountaintime.com\/kspn\/local-news\/colorado-wildlife-officials-restock-animas-river-with-trout-after-die-off-caused-by-wildfire\/","title":{"rendered":"Colorado wildlife officials restock Animas River with trout after die-off caused by wildfire"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>DURANGO (AP) \u2014 The restoration of the Animas River is underway, as Colorado Parks and Wildlife officials have poured 1,500 rainbow trout into the river.<\/p>\n<p>The Durango Herald\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/durangoherald.com\/articles\/254742-after-dieoff-animas-river-restocked-with-fish\">reports<\/a>\u00a0the restocking Thursday was the first significant restocking of fish in the Animas since mudslides and floods from a wildfire burn scar over the summer caused a near complete die-off in the waterway.<\/p>\n<p>The first reported fish kills as a result of runoff from the blaze burn scar happened in mid-July.
