In a candid interview with Consequence Of Sound,\u00a0System Of A Down<\/strong>\u00a0bassist\u00a0Shavo Odadjian has revealed that new SOAD music is being worked on now, and it’s sounding pretty great.<\/p>\n

\u201cBetween you and me and this world, and to the people who read this interview, we have material that tops everything we\u2019ve done,\u201d<\/em> Shavo has shared. \u201cAnd that\u2019s me telling you, honestly. I can\u2019t wait to record that and drop it.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s just a matter of time. I just hope it happens sooner than later. But we\u2019ve written stuff together. Daron [Malakian]\u2019s brought a lot of stuff in. I\u2019ve brought stuff to Daron and we\u2019ve worked it out. I have so much more stuff that is ready to go out.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

But what of the rumoured in-fighting, holding back any hopes of new music and touring? Apparently it’s just a rumour- with Shavo sharing\u00a0 \u201cWe\u2019re not even fighting. When we see each other, we\u2019re so happy and we\u2019re cool. It\u2019s weird that we don\u2019t have a new record, or many records, and it\u2019s weird that we don\u2019t go on world tours. We tour, but it\u2019s so little.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

He continued \u201cEverything that you heard over the summer, that they kind of brought into public, was stuff that was in the past. That stuff happened a long time ago. So, it\u2019s like, 10 years later, something new came up, but it wasn\u2019t really new.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cIt was something that was really old, and they were just hashing it out. Because one person did an interview, and I guess in the interview they paraphrased his words and it came off wrong. And I read that, too, and it wasn\u2019t like him. He wouldn\u2019t blame anyone.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

No word yet on when the new era of System Of A Down will kick off, but consider us excited.<\/p>\n
