{"id":2417117,"date":"2018-12-27T14:30:50","date_gmt":"2018-12-27T21:30:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.aspentimes.com\/?p=291444"},"modified":"2018-12-27T14:30:50","modified_gmt":"2018-12-27T21:30:50","slug":"two-colorado-men-who-died-from-medical-incidents-at-keystone-idd","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alwaysmountaintime.com\/kspn\/local-news\/two-colorado-men-who-died-from-medical-incidents-at-keystone-idd\/","title":{"rendered":"Two Colorado men who died from medical incidents at Keystone ID\u2019d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">Two men who died after medical incidents at Keystone Resort this week have been identified as 53-year-old Daniel Mares of Arvada and 66-year-old Durwood Marshall of Silverthorne.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">On Dec. 22,\u00a0Mares was found unconscious\u00a0and not breathing at the bottom of a run at the resort, and was transported to the Keystone Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">On Dec. 25,\u00a0Marshall was also discovered unconscious\u00a0on a trail, and was transported to St. Anthony Summit Medical Center where he was later pronounced deceased.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">Both deaths were the result of medical events related to cardiac issues, according to Summit County Coroner Regan Wood.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">The deaths represent the second and third fatalities stemming from ski resorts in Summit County this year.\u00a0Daniel Giger, a 21-year-old University of Colorado Boulder student,\u00a0was killed following a collision\u00a0with a tree at Breckenridge Ski Resort on Dec. 16.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">In addition to three deaths in Summit County, there have been at least two other skier deaths this season.<\/p>\n<div id=\"single-mid-script\" class=\"p402_hide\">\n<h2>Recommended Stories For You<\/h2>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">Bindu Pomeroy, 44, was killed snowboarding in the Vail backcountry late last month after landing headfirst jumping off a cliff.
