A lift at Breckenridge Ski Resort stranded skiers and snowboarders in their chairs when it lost power Saturday afternoon.<\/p>\n
According to the resort, the power outage that stopped the Quicksilver SuperChair led Breckenridge Ski Patrol to start rescuing skiers and snowboards stuck on the lift\u2019s six-person chairs via ropes.<\/p>\n
The power outage was reported at about 12:30 p.m., and ski patrol began the evacuations after the lift had remained stationary for almost an hour. Several surrounding trails and chairlifts were closed as a safety precaution, the resort said in a statement.<\/p>\n
About 30 minutes after the rope-line evacuations began, maintenance got the Quicksilver SuperChair up and running again, at which time ski patrol stopped its rescues and the remaining guests were unloaded.<\/p>\n
According to the resort, everyone was off the lift by 2:22 p.m., and no one was hurt.<\/p>\n
\u201cBreckenridge Ski Resort apologizes for any inconvenience to its guests,\u201d the resort said in the statement. \u201cThe resort places the highest value on the safety of its guests and will confirm resolution of the issue before re-opening the Quicksilver SuperChair to the public.\u201d<\/p>\n
