{"id":2422759,"date":"2019-01-05T07:34:48","date_gmt":"2019-01-05T14:34:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.aspentimes.com\/?p=292560"},"modified":"2019-01-05T07:34:48","modified_gmt":"2019-01-05T14:34:48","slug":"snow-expected-to-return-sunday-in-aspen-area-nws-says-in-advisory","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alwaysmountaintime.com\/kspn\/local-news\/snow-expected-to-return-sunday-in-aspen-area-nws-says-in-advisory\/","title":{"rendered":"Snow expected to return Sunday in Aspen area, NWS says in advisory"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Up to a foot of snow is forecast for the northern and central Colorado mountains including areas around Aspen and Snowmass, the National Weather Service said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/forecast.weather.gov\/showsigwx.php?warnzone=COZ010&amp;warncounty=COC097&amp;firewxzone=COZ205&amp;local_place1=Aspen%20CO&amp;product1=Winter+Weather+Advisory&amp;lat=39.1946&amp;lon=-106.827#.XDC7aNhKiqA\">winter weather advisory<\/a> issued Saturday morning.<\/p>\n<p>The NWS office in Grand Junction said snow totals could range from 6 inches to a foot or more in some higher elevations.<\/p>\n<p>The advisory starts early Sunday morning and lasts until midnight Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Clouds will be on the increase today ahead of the next storm system. Snow will begin around midnight tonight for all mountainous terrain with 6 to 12 inches expected when all is said and done,&#8221; the NWS said in its advisory posted early Saturday morning. &#8220;The southern valleys and I-70 corridor from Debeque Canyon to Vail Pass will see 3 to 6 inches.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Snow totals in the Aspen area are expected to be in the 2-4 inch range.
