Hass was transported to Breckenridge Medical Center at the base of Peak 9, where he was later pronounced dead. Wood said that the manner of death was natural, though the official cause of death is pending until the coroner\u2019s office completes an autopsy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">Hass\u2019 death represents the fourth fatality to take place on the ski slopes in Summit County this season, and the third to succumb to a medical incident that didn\u2019t include a collision. On Dec. 16,\u00a0<a id=\"N0x25eb230N0x25c9720:N0x25eb230N0x27ba6b8\" href=\"https:\/\/www.summitdaily.com\/news\/family-remembers-boulder-student-who-died-in-breckenridge-skiing-accident-as-adventurous-daring\/\">21-year-old Daniel Giger<\/a>\u00a0of Newport Beach, Califoria \u2014 a University of Colorado Boulder student \u2014 was pronounced deceased at St. Anthony Summit Medical Center after colliding with a tree at Breckenridge Resort. On Dec. 22,\u00a0<a id=\"N0x25eb230N0x25c9780:N0x25eb230N0x27ba748\" href=\"https:\/\/www.summitdaily.com\/news\/family-remembers-arvada-man-who-died-following-cardiac-event-at-keystone-resort\/\">52-year-old Daniel Mares<\/a>, a native of Nebraska and resident of Arvada, died following a cardiac event at Keystone Resort. On Christmas Day,\u00a0<a id=\"N0x25eb230N0x25c97e0:N0x25eb230N0x27ba7d8\" href=\"https:\/\/www.summitdaily.com\/news\/remembering-durwood-marshall-silverthorne-man-who-passed-away-following-cardiac-event-at-keystone-resort\/\">66-year-old Durwood Marshall<\/a>, a New York transplant living in Silverthorne, also passed away after suffering a cardiac event.<\/p>\n<p class=\"STND-STND BodyText\">Along with the four deaths in Summit County, there have been at least three other skiing fatalities this season. In late November,\u00a0<a id=\"N0x25eb230N0x25c9840:N0x25eb230N0x27ba8f8\" href=\"https:\/\/www.vaildaily.com\/news\/community-mourns-bindu-sky-pomeroy-the-mayor-of-east-vail\/\">44-year-old Bindu Pomeroy<\/a>\u00a0was killed snowboarding after landing headfirst jumping off a cliff in Vail\u2019s backcountry. On Dec. 10, 26-year-old Bill Brockmueller passed away at the Foothills Hospital in Boulder, days after hitting a tree at Eldora Mountain Resort on Dec. 4.
