Primarily, because the wide range of guests who come through start to finish bring a vibrancy to town and represent the broad appeal of Aspen to the world.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Special Sections-ATW-ATW_Body_Serif\">January starts off with a bang \u2014 literally \u2014 with midnight fireworks ushering in the new year and visitors from all over the world here for the holidays. Then comes the arrival of Australians spending a &#8220;summer break&#8221; in the Northern Hemisphere with many friends and family in tow having a ball with all of this snow.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Special Sections-ATW-ATW_Body_Serif\">Similarly, Brazilians trek to town for a ski holiday together \u2014 I personally love the sound of Portuguese on the slopes and at apr\u00e8s-ski spots.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Special Sections-ATW-ATW_Body_Serif\">By the time Gay Ski Week rolls around, the population shifts again with guests attending the largest and longest running annual gay ski week event in the country.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Special Sections-ATW-ATW_Body_Serif\">As they depart, we welcome X-Gamers for action sports competition, industry events, indoor and outdoor concerts and more.<\/p>\n<p> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aspentimes.com\/news\/weekly\/mountain-mayhem-starting-off-with-a-bang\/\" target=\"_blank\">via:: The Aspen Times<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The first month of the year in Aspen is one of my favorites for various reasons.
