Now, it\u2019s back on the market, at a dramatically reduced price: $31 million, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/michael-jacksons-neverland-relists-for-31-millionor-70-off-11551198023\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Wall Street Journal<\/em> reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The drop is the latest chapter in the Jackson estate\u2019s struggle sell the property; it is technically owned by a venture between the estate and a real estate investment firm called Colony Capital. The property was last listed in 2017 at a cut price of $67 million. Now, after switching listings agents, it\u2019s back for sale, under a new name: the Sycamore Valley Ranch. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.architecturaldigest.com\/story\/michael-jackson-neverland-ranch-for-sale-before-documentary-airs\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Architectural Digest<\/em><\/a> reports it includes a 12,000-square foot house, guesthouses, a lagoon-like swimming pool, a basketball court and more. Jackson bought the property in 1987 and lived there for more than 15 years before his death in 2009.<\/p>\n<p>The timing of the sale may be significant: While property Agent Kyle Forsyth <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/michael-jacksons-neverland-back-on-market-for-31-million\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">told CBS News<\/a> that it\u2019s\u00a0right time to sell \u201cwith the drought ending and the Santa Ynez Valley in full bloom,\u201d (a series of natural disasters and a long draught have damaged the area), the listing comes days ahead of the release of the HBO documentary <em>Leaving Neverland.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>In the film, two men, Wade Robson and James Safechuck, claim Jackson sexually abused them as children on the Neverland property; the Jackson estate has called it \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/michael-jackson-estate-leaving-neverland-tabloid-character-assassination-784968\/\">character assassination<\/a>,\u201d and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/tv\/tv-news\/michael-jackson-estate-hbo-leaving-neverland-lawsuit-797455\/\">sued HBO<\/a>.
